Description
Custom Miniature Size Polyurethane Wheels for Small Devices – 10–60 mm Compact PU Wheels, Shore A 60–95, for Medical Carts, Laboratory Equipment, Robotic Grippers and Small AGVs
Our custom miniature size polyurethane wheels are engineered for small devices where installation space is tight but motion quality still decides whether the finished product feels professional. As a China-based polyurethane wheel factory with more than 10 years of OEM and ODM experience, we manufacture these compact PU wheels with outer diameters from 10 mm to 60 mm and hardness from Shore A 60 to Shore A 95, so you can match grip, noise level and load capacity to your exact application instead of compromising on a standard catalogue size. Compared with small rubber or nylon rollers in the same diameter range, our cast polyurethane compound delivers noticeably lower rolling resistance, better abrasion resistance and quieter running, which translates into longer service intervals and lower replacement cost for medical carts, laboratory equipment, camera sliders, robotic grippers and small automated guided vehicles. Every batch is supported by incoming material inspection, dimensional checks to ±0.05 mm on critical features and full traceability records, giving design engineers and purchasing teams a dependable supplier for both prototype samples and wholesale volume production.
Why Choose Our Miniature Polyurethane Wheels
Small devices are usually the hardest place to source wheels, because off-the-shelf parts rarely match the bore, width and hardness a design actually needs. We treat every enquiry as a custom solution rather than a catalogue lookup, and our engineers give expert advice on hardness, tread profile and bearing selection before a single mould is opened. That is why robot builders, medical device makers and lab equipment suppliers come back to us order after order.
Our miniature PU wheels are cast from a compound formulated specifically for small-device duty, where low noise and long wear life matter more than raw load capacity. Concentricity and bore tolerance are held within ±0.05 mm, which cuts vibration and improves positioning accuracy on miniature linear and rotary mechanisms. With hardness adjustable from Shore A 60 to Shore A 95, one wheel family can serve everything from soft, quiet instrument castors to firm, low-friction drive rollers.
Typical applications: Medical carts and IV stands, laboratory analyzers, camera sliders and gimbals, robotic grippers and end effectors, small automated guided vehicles, vending and dispensing equipment, and clean-room handling fixtures.
As a China-based factory and OEM/ODM supplier, we build customizable miniature polyurethane wheels with your choice of hub material (aluminum, stainless steel, nylon or engineering plastic), axle bore and bearing type. Wholesale orders and customized samples are welcome for small-device projects worldwide.

The tread surface is cast and then machined to a smooth, uniform crown, which keeps contact pressure even and prevents the flat spotting that often appears on small rubber wheels after long static periods. Edges are lightly chamfered to avoid catching on thresholds and cable ducts. Bores are reamed after curing rather than moulded, so the axle fit stays consistent from the first piece to the thousandth, and bearing versions are press-fitted with controlled interference to eliminate play.
Because these wheels are often used in visible consumer and medical products, we pay attention to the details that buyers notice: clean color consistency across batches, no release-agent residue on the tread, and optional laser or moulded logo marking on the core. If your device runs on delicate flooring, we can also supply a softer compound that leaves no marks and runs quietly through the full life of the wheel.
Material Properties of the Polyurethane Compound
| Property | Typical Value |
|---|---|
| Hardness range | Shore A 60 to Shore A 95 |
| Density | 1.05 to 1.20 g/cm³ |
| Tensile strength | 30 to 55 MPa |
| Tear strength | 60 to 110 kN/m |
| Abrasion resistance | 20 to 45 mm³ loss, tested to DIN 53516 |
| Rebound resilience | 40 % to 60 % |
| Compression set | Below 25 %, tested at 70 °C for 22 hours |
| Noise performance | Up to 8 dB lower than hard rubber wheels under equal load |
| Service temperature | −20 °C to +80 °C continuous, short term up to +100 °C |
Values above are typical of production batches rather than best-case laboratory samples. For small-device projects we normally recommend the softer end of the range when noise and floor protection matter most, and the firmer end when low rolling resistance and positioning accuracy are the priority. Custom hardness from Shore 60A to 95A is available from our factory.

We are a professional polyurethane wheel maker and supplier based in China, serving small-device manufacturers, robotics integrators and industrial buyers in Europe, North America, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. Our work covers custom development as well as wholesale supply, and our engineering team supports customers with drawing review, material selection and application advice rather than simply quoting a price. Most enquiries are answered with practical suggestions within one working day.
Over the past decade we have produced thousands of moulds for miniature and mid-size PU wheels, which means a new project can often start from an existing tool or a minor modification, saving both tooling cost and development time for your market launch. Whether you need OEM production under your own brand or ODM support from concept to finished part, we are set up to follow your specification documents and quality requirements step by step.
We regularly welcome buyers and engineers from overseas to review moulds, inspect sample wheels and discuss new projects face to face. Visit programs usually include a walk through the casting and machining areas, a sample testing session with hardness and dimensional checks, and a meeting to confirm specifications, packaging and shipment planning. If you cannot travel, we can arrange video factory tours and live sample inspection on request, so you can verify production capability before placing a wholesale order.

Factory & Equipment
Our Factory Workshop and Equipment for Custom Miniature PU Wheel Manufacturing

Our Certifications (ISO9001, RoHS, Testing Reports)

Production runs in our own plant with dedicated lines for casting, curing, machining and assembly, so quality controls stay in-house instead of being split across several subcontractors. Key equipment includes CNC turning centers for diameter and bore machining, precision casting moulds, hardness testers, and dimensional inspection stations with calibrated gauges. Incoming raw materials are checked before release to production, and finished wheels are inspected against the agreed drawing before packing. Our quality management system follows ISO 9001 principles, and we can supply certificates, inspection records and material reports with your shipment. Third-party inspection before dispatch is available on request, and equipment is maintained on a planned schedule so tolerances stay stable across repeat orders.
Production & Inventory Policy
Lead time: Actual lead time depends on raw material supply, machining capacity and peak-season workload, so it can vary within a reasonable range. Once your order is confirmed, we provide a delivery estimate that is as accurate as possible and keep you informed of any change during production.
Stock status: We generally produce to order rather than holding inventory, although a limited number of popular standard sizes are kept in stock. The actual quantity available changes with sales and production, so please contact our team to confirm real-time stock before placing an order.
Bulk & urgent orders: For large-volume or time-critical requirements, please talk to us in advance about capacity and scheduling. We will do our best to fit your timetable and confirm what can realistically be delivered and when.
Frequently Asked Questions – Miniature Polyurethane Wheels
1. What sizes and hardness can you customize for miniature polyurethane wheels?
We typically produce outer diameters from 10 mm to 60 mm, tread widths from 5 mm to 30 mm, and hardness from Shore A 60 to Shore A 95. If your device needs a size outside this range or an unusual tread profile, send us the drawing and our engineers will confirm feasibility and tooling requirements before quoting.
2. Can you produce these small PU wheels with our own marking or brand?
Yes. We offer full OEM and ODM support, including custom color, bore size, bearing type, packaging and logo marking on the core or on the carton. Most customer-specific markings can be handled without additional tooling, and we will confirm the artwork details during the sampling stage.
3. How does your polyurethane compound perform compared with standard rubber wheels on small devices?
In the same diameter range, our cast polyurethane generally shows lower rolling resistance, better abrasion resistance and quieter operation than hard rubber. The exact difference depends on hardness and load, but many customers see longer service intervals and less floor marking after switching. We are happy to send comparison samples so you can test both in your own device.
4. What is the minimum order quantity and sample lead time?
For standard sizes the minimum order quantity is low, and for custom sizes it depends on whether new tooling is needed. Samples are usually ready within 7 to 15 working days after drawing confirmation and sample fee payment. Volume production follows once you approve the sample, and we will advise the realistic schedule based on current capacity.
5. How do you control quality during production of miniature PU wheels?
Incoming polyurethane raw material is inspected before release, hardness is checked on every batch, and critical dimensions such as outer diameter, bore and width are measured with calibrated gauges. We keep inspection records for each lot and can share them with your order. Third-party inspection before shipment is also available if your project requires it.
6. What packing options do you offer for small wheel orders?
Standard packing is inner plastic bag plus export carton, with foam or dividers available for wheels that must not touch each other in transit. We can also supply bulk cartons, blister packs or retail-ready packaging with your own label. Please let us know your requirement when ordering so we can prepare the correct packing list.
7. What payment and shipping methods do you accept?
We commonly work with T/T and can discuss other terms for established customers. Shipments are arranged by express, air or sea freight depending on quantity and urgency, and we can quote on FOB, CIF or door-to-door terms. For small sample orders, express delivery is usually the fastest and most economical choice.
8. Do you offer wholesale pricing for repeat or volume orders?
Yes. Unit price decreases as quantity increases, and once a mould is confirmed, repeat orders avoid tooling cost altogether. Tell us your annual volume and target price, and we will provide a realistic quotation along with suggestions on size, hardness or packaging that may help reduce overall cost without affecting performance.
9. Can these miniature PU wheels be used on delicate floors or in clean environments?
Yes. Our non-marking compound is formulated for tile, laminate, glass and painted metal surfaces, and we can supply a softer tread version that runs quietly and leaves no marks. For lab, medical and clean-room equipment, we can also discuss low-residue materials and packaging that suits controlled environments.
